Below the Geometric Surface
‘Below the Geometric Surface’ is a contemporary geometric oil painting blends earthy browns, deep orange tones, and bold black accents to create a dynamic sense of depth and movement. Inspired by the structural beauty of the Bird of Paradise flower, the composition reinterprets its form through sharp triangular angles and layered geometric planes.
The artwork explores themes of what lies beneath the earth’s surface - hidden foundations, ancient roots, and the quiet strength found in underground layers. The angular shapes and intersecting lines symbolise growth, resilience, and the way nature builds upward from what we cannot see.
Part of my ongoing series investigating the balance between organic inspiration and geometric design, this piece offers a strong contemporary presence ideal for modern interiors.
