‘After Dark’
After Dark explores botanical form through movement, colour and abstraction.
Sweeping organic shapes emerge from a dark ground in layers of burgundy, rose, blush pink and muted earthy tones, creating a composition that feels both botanical and sculptural. Light traces the edges of each form, building depth and movement while allowing the foliage to shift between recognition and abstraction.
The work continues my exploration of botanical subjects through colour, scale and structure, where organic forms are simplified, magnified and layered to create a strong sense of rhythm across the canvas.
Painted in oil on canvas and presented in a custom black floating frame, After Dark is a large-scale original artwork designed to bring depth, warmth and presence to a contemporary interior.
